Mrs Beeton's Afternoon Tea

I used to bake a lot, I even baked my own wedding cakes (with a lot of help from my Mum too), but since the wedding, I all but stopped. As my husband does not have a sweet tooth, I had even less incentive to flour myself up.

Struggling with SAD and a sore wrist from over-crocheting, by the end of 2018, I decided I needed a new challenge.

A few years ago, I was gifted the cookery book, "The Best of Mrs Beeton's Afternoon Tea." Ever since, it's been languishing in a cupboard, unopened and unloved, until now.

As a 2019 New Year Resolution, I counted up all the recipes in the book. There are over 80.

I originally had the idea to bake 52 - one per week, but having completed a few already (I'm writing this in week three) I think I might manage to complete the whole book if I group the easier recipes together.

So, I started to bake my way through the book, quickly realising that despite the clear instruction on some of the recipes I still wasn't sure if I was following it correctly. A google search yielded no results, so I decided to blog my experiences following Mrs Beeton's recipes for anyone who might be interested.
